Ron, POST this immediately. Oleg Kis is a wonderful friend of mine, with whom I performed Christian outreach to Russians for many years, including in New York City. He is a courageous and dedicated Christian man. I just received this urgent email today. I REQUEST PRAYER FOR THIS URGENT AMERICAN MISSIONARY HOSTAGE SITUATION. And for Oleg, willing to risk his life to rescue one life imperiled by Moslem terrorists.

Pamela, the Lord does work in mysterious ways. I'm in the Philippines now, trying to arrange medical care for an orphan that I met on a previous trip here, and to do something potentially rather dramatic in terms of
witnessing/ministry.  I'll send you a copy of an email that I sent to the leader of a mission board which will give you a pretty good idea of what's been happening to me here.
   You may already be aware that the Abu Sayyaf Muslim terrorists here in the Philippines are holding 2 American missionaries and a Filipina nurse hostage. 

The Lord has placed it on my heart to go to the family of the nurse and offer to exchange myself for the nurse, and I plan to do so later this month.  The Abu Sayyaf would probably consider myself as a more valuable hostage than the Filipina nurse, and would probably accept the
offer.  However, the family might not want me to do this, because if I die then they might feel guilty about causing my death.  If this is the case, this is where you or maybe someone else that you know might come in. 
Because it is unlikely or less likely that the Abu Sayyaf would kill a woman, they might accept an offer for a female American to exchange herself for the nurse. 

I realize that I probably sound crazy, but if you or anybody else that you know would think you'd be interested in this kind of mission, please let me know.  It probably should be easy to raise enough support for
this kind of mission, and I'd be willing to help financially too.  The Filipino people are very much like Russians and Ukrainians in character, so I think you'd get along very well with them, and most of them know English
fairly well since it's a required subject for all high school students (and also an official language).
